STOCKTON - Kenta Ba nike free run 3.0 v3.ks was on the search for a new pair of Nike Air Force 1 sneakers for his 13-year-old daughter, Kendra Banks.
Kenta Banks wouldn't think of letting his kids return to school without the hottest trends.
"The first day of school is about how you look," he said. It is a tradition.
The investigations were on for shoes, clothes and all the school supplies on checkoff lists.
Kendra found her sneakers for about $70 and dad did not spare the expense, because she will make him proud on the school basketball court.
"She's my star player," he said.
Aside from the shoes, the 37-year old dad made the rest of his purchases on a budget. After all, he has six children to clothe: Keniyah, 4, Kenayah, 5; Keontae, 9; Isaiah, 9; Kenya, 11; and Kendra.
With a big family in your mind, he was looking for good bargains.
"His children simply came from dd's Discounts (clothing store)," Kenta mens nike free 4.0 v2 black.Banks said. "His children spent $250. That was just for my four daughters."
For school supplies, he hit the Dollar Tree and only spent $25 on paper, pencils, folders and other items.
"It's all the same stuff you buy at Walmart," he said patiently, as Keniyah and Kenayah called for his focus and dangled his children on his arms.
Back-to-school shopping is an exciting time for kids, but a stressful time for parents, said 38-year old Vivian Jones.
"They're excited. I'm not," Jones said with laughter.
After spending bills, Jones said, she actually is rummaging the clearance stands.
But that didn't stop the girls from making trendy buys. What's in this year? According to Mariele: high-waisted pants. "I only shop for what I am comfortable in," she said. According to Liezle: crop tops. But she will wear them over tank tops - the parent- and school-approved manner.
The siblings, ages 17 and 16, no longer need to stick to their own parents' budget, because they made their own cash in summer jobs. The two Linden High School pupils worked at a nike free sale.herry-packaging warehouse.
On Sunday, they spent more than $1,000 together. Shopping was a little more fun in 2013.
"I feel good," said Lorena Mercado, who'll be a senior. "I do not need to ask for cash."
